Our View: Thumbs for Friday

October 25, 2013

Thumbs up: To Cheryl Isola, a Radio Park Elementary School teacher, who realized a lifelong wish to “come on down” and be a “The Price is Right” game show contestant. The episode, filmed this summer two days after her 18th wedding anniversary, airs Friday.

Thumbs down: To Brandon Bednash, 19, who faces criminal charges after allegedly knocking down a State College police officer and dragging her after she confronted him for public urination. If true, injuring an officer to avoid a fine shows a certain kind of poor judgment.

Thumbs up: To Penn State athletes who took time to hand out candy to costumed children and to pose for photos at the Penn State All-Sports Museum’s annual Trick or Treat Night. Though the big kids had almost as much fun as their admiring guests, it was a sweet gesture.
