Our View | Thumbs for Saturday

October 26, 2013

Thumbs up: To the State College Area High School boys and girls soccer teams for earning District 6 championships on Thursday, both with wins over Hollidaysburg. The Lady Little Lions claimed their sixth straight district title. The Little Lions won their third straight crown.

Thumbs down: To Berks County-based Pennsylvania Taxpayers Cyber Coalition, for its “Wanted” poster featuring state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, R-Bellefonte, and four other legislators. Making a point about government spending is acceptable and encouraged. But this was over the top.

Thumbs down: To Ivan Viktorovich Kronin, of State College, accused of lying about his income to the Centre County Housing Authority and other agencies to live in subsidized housing and obtain food stamps. He also is accused of inflating his income to buy numerous cars.
