Letter to the editor | A woman as mayor

October 26, 2013

Did you see “Women not faring well in Pennsylvania” in Tuesday’s CDT, deploring the lack of women as leaders in Pennsylvania?

That’s another good reason to keep Elizabeth Goreham as mayor of State College.

She is a caring person who has worked tirelessly in our community, forging strong links between the town and the university. She even holds regular office hours on campus to interact with students and student leaders.

That’s why I will vote for her to continue as mayor on Nov. 5, and I hope you will do the same. She has earned her position and deserves to keep it.

Mary Gage, State College
