The simultaneous projects to improve Whitehall Road between South Atherton Street and Tadpole Road are nearing completion.
The state Department of Transportation is widening and otherwise improving the road between Atherton and West College Avenue. Ferguson Township is doing the same between West College and Tadpole.
For the township project, paving continues and is planned for Saturday, then Monday through Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. While the work schedule is weather dependent, officials anticipate completing the project and removing the detour by Thanksgiving.
For the state project, work next week will include placing top soil at various locations and placing concrete sidewalk and curbing between College and Waupelani Drive. Drivers should be alert for crews directing traffic between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Officials said the work is set to be complete by mid-November.
