Letter to the editor | Mayor is welcoming to all

October 30, 2013

We have known Elizabeth Goreham for more than 20 years, as a friend, neighbor, member of Borough Council and mayor of State College.

She listens to her constituents and carries through with a proactive agenda. One of her primary goals is to sustain a healthy structure of the borough’s neighborhoods while simultaneously being sensitive to the rights of all members of State College: families, students and businesses.

Goreham devotes hours to town-gown relations, walking the neighborhoods with other borough and university officials to knock on doors, meet students and help them to feel that they are part of the community, with attached responsibilities.

Indeed, her warm and inclusive personality exemplifies the true spirit of State College as a welcoming community. We are proud that she is our mayor and we strongly support her for re-election.
