Letter to the editor | A vote for children

November 1, 2013

On Tuesday, voters in Penns Valley will decide who will be our school board representatives.

It is hard to overstate the importance of the election that will help guide our most precious assets and future leaders: our children. It is imperative that every voter cast a vote with a clear understanding of the facts.

Penns Valley Area School District has made tremendous academic advances and now ranks in the top 8 percent in the commonwealth, up from 49 percent in 2002. This high performance is coupled with the lowest school taxes in the county.

I encourage you to watch The League of Woman Voters of Centre County candidate forum at www.pvasd2013.com.

Great shools and low taxes. Vote for Chris Houser, Jeff Hyde and Amy Niewinski.

Mike Culver, Millheim
