Penn State women’s soccer: Nittany Lions boot Michigan State

— Maya Hayes had two goals and Raquel Rodriguez added a goal and an assist as No. 22 Penn State closed out its regular season with a 3-0 rout of Michigan State.

Rodriquez scored off a penalty kick for the only goal in the first half. Hayes scored twice in a 15-minute span in the second half to put the game away for the Nittany Lions (13-5-1 overall, 7-4 Big Ten), who had their streak of 15 consecutive league titles snapped.

Penn State outshot the Spartans (9-8, 3-8) by a 24-5 margin. Britt Eckerstrom did not have to make a save for the first 77 minutes. Meghan Kaminski played the final 12 minutes and saved one shot.

Clem Courtney had seven saves for the Spartans.
