Penn State volleyball: Hancock lands Big Ten weekly honor

— After helping the Penn State women’s volleyball team beat a pair of top-25 opponents, Micha Hancock was named Big Ten Setter of the Week on Monday.

The honor is the third for the junior this season and ninth of her career.

Hancock distributed 48 assists to go with five kills, nine digs, five blocks and an ace while helping the No. 2 Nittany Lions to a win over No. 17 Michigan. In a sweep of No. 14 Michigan State the next night, she had 35 assists, nine digs and a block while guiding the team to a .451 hitting night.

Hancock leads the nation at 0.77 aces per set this season.

Penn State (20-2, 11-1) hosts Purdue on Friday and Indiana on Saturday at Rec Hall.
