Penn State women’s soccer: Hayes grabs weekly honor

— Penn State’s Maya Hayes was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Sharing the honor with Iowa’s Cloe Lacasse, Hayes scored twice in a 3-0 win against Michigan State last Friday to close the regular season schedule.

The senior and two-time All-American leads Penn State with 19 goals this season.

The Nittany Lions open the Big Ten tournament at Illinois at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday as the No. 3 seed, facing No. 6 seed Wisconsin.
