Supervisors Barbara Spencer and Mark Stevenson will retain their board seats after winning the most votes Tuesday, according to unofficial county election results.
Spencer, a Republican, received the most votes with 463, or 38 percent. Stevenson, the board chairman and a Democrat, received 429 votes, or 37 percent. Political newcomer Donald Houtz received 189 votes, almost 16 percent.
Spencer did not return a message for comment late Tuesday, but Stevenson said he thinks voters gave the two candidates the same reactions at the polls.
“I want to say thanks to those voters, one, for coming out and, two, for taking the extra time after they voted to thank me for doing a good job,” he said. “It’s something that bolsters your confidence.”
