Gregg Township will have a new supervisor in January for the next six years.

Newcomer Charles Stover defeated incumbent Pat Leary 341-218 in Tuesday’s election, according to unofficial results.

Stover said he’d do everything he can to help the township.

“The first thing I’m going to do is look at all the dollar figures and numbers the township is involved in, and make sure those are all accurate,” Stover said. “It’s not going to be a quick and easy task, but I want to make sure everything is in check.”

Stover said he wants to involve the community in decision processes.

“It shouldn’t just be about the board,” he said. “We’re here to serve the people who live here and I think they should have a say. I’m a firm believer in the saying that if you take the time, then you can make things work.”
