Police: Tar spills from truck onto Philipsburg streets

From CDT staff reportsNovember 8, 2013

— State police say liquid tar spilled from a truck early Friday morning at the intersection of East Presqueisle Street and Centre Street in Philipsburg.

Police said that as driver John Klanchar pulled the 2006 Freightliner truck from Centre Street into the intersection, a filler door on the top of tanker trailer opened. The tar then spilled out onto the roadway.

The incident occurred at about 5 a.m.

Police ask that anyone with information about the spill, or anyone with damage to a vehicle as a result of the tar, call the Philipsburg barracks at 342-3370.
