Annual Run for Shelter 5K is Saturday

The annual Run for Shelter 5K race to benefit the Centre House homeless shelter begins at 9 a.m. Saturday in downtown State College.

The run/walk will start and finish at the Centre House homeless shelter at 217 E. Nittany Ave. and wind through the Highlands neighborhood and Fraternity Row.

Registration is at 217 E. Nittany Ave. from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday before the race.

There will be live music, refreshments and prizes.

The Centre House shelter has been serving homeless people in Centre County since 1984. For more information, visit www. housingtransitions.com.
