Letter to the editor | A nice place to visit

November 9, 2013

Sometimes when I go to Bellefonte, I shop for children’s gifts or go to the drug store, which still has a soda fountain, or check out the antique shop or have lunch near the park.

I also go to Bellefonte to appreciate its grand architecture.

Historic architecture has always been one of Bellefonte’s main assets.

With such a prominent building as the Garman Theatre so close to our Centre County Courthouse, it would be a travesty to build modern apartments in that location.

I hope the decision-makers in Bellefonte reconsider their vote and decide to preserve, rather than destroy, a part of the heritage of their town.
