Penn State women’s ice hockey: Orange squeeze Nittany Lions

— Nicole Paniccia had another strong day in goal, but Penn State could not score at the other end in a 2-1 loss to Syracuse on Saturday afternoon at Pegula Ice Arena.

Paniccia made 37 saves, while Jordin Pardoski netted her first goal of the season with help from Laura Bowman and Amy Petersen in the only score for the Nittany Lions (2-8-1, 0-3 CHA).

Melissa Piacentini netted both goals for the Orange (5-4, 1-0), while Kallie Billadeau made 17 saves in the win. Syracuse outshot Penn State 39-18.

Penn State visits RIT for two games next weekend.
