Man, who said he took bath salts, found with drug paraphernalia

A Tyrone man, who said he had taken bath salts, was observed staggering in front of cars on a Taylor Township street Saturday afternoon, state police at Philipsburg said.

Jacob Ewing, 30, fled from police around 1 p.m. near Hanna Hill Lane. He was caught with drug paraphernalia and told police he took a large amount of bath salts that he got from a nearby residence, police said.

Ewing claimed he was being chased, but police were not able to locate any other people in the area. When police went to the residence, they found additional paraphernalia and suspected bath salts.

Charges against Ewing are pending and expected to he filed in district court.
