— Penn State’s Katie Slay was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping the No. 2 Nittany Lions to a pair of wins.

She had nine kills on .500 hitting and five blocks in a sweep of No. 18 Purdue, then had six kills on .429 hitting without an error to go with five blocks in a sweep of Indiana.

The senior middle hitter is third in the nation averaging 1.60 blocks per set.

The Nittany Lions (22-2, 13-1) visit No. 14 Wisconsin and No. 11 Minnesota this weekend.
