Penn State wrestling: Taylor earns Big Ten weekly honor

— Penn State senior David Taylor was named the Big Ten’s Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday following another dominant weekend on the mat.

The top-ranked wrestler at 165 pounds, according to Intermat, posted a 5-0 record at the Binghamton Open on Sunday, winning four bouts by first-period pin and the other by an 18-2 technical fall. He won the championship match with a pin in 1:51.

The three-time All-American has 41 career pins and 105 career wins.

Taylor and the rest of the No. 1 Nittany Lions visit Rider on Saturday to open the regular-season schedule.
