Penn State women’s ice hockey: RIT rallies past Nittany Lions

— Penn State held a third-period lead before Rochester Institute of Technology rallied for a 2-1 win Friday night.

All the scoring came in the game’s final nine minutes, with Taylor Gross putting the Nittany Lions (2-10-1, 0-5 CHA) ahead on her fifth goal of the season with 8:56 left. Emily Laurenzi had the assist.

Morgan Scoyne tied it with 5:42 left and Mackenzie netted the winner with 1:08 to go in regulation.

Nicole Paniccia stopped 36 of the 38 shots she faced while Ali Binnington made 22 saves on the Nittany Lions’ 23 shots.

The teams meet again Saturday afternoon.
