Penn State football: Robinson a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award

Penn State’s Allen Robinson is among 10 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the top college receiver in the country.

Robinson has already broken school season marks for receptions (81) and receiving yardage (1,204 yards). He leads the Big Ten and is third in the country in receptions and is ninth in the country in receiving yardage.

Others in contention for the honor are: Davante Adams (Fresno State), Jace Amaro (Texas Tech), Odell Beckham (LSU), Brandin Cooks (Oregon State), Mike Evans (Texas A&M), Antwan Goodley (Baylor), Jordan Matthews (Vanderbilt), Paul Richardson (Colorado), Willie Snead (Ball State) and Sammy Watkins (Clemson).

Fans will help determine the winner. Fans can vote once daily at the website

The Biletnikoff finalists will be announced Nov. 25 and the winner named on Dec. 12.

Penn State’s Bobby Engram won the first Biletnikoff Award in 1994.

The award is named for Fred Biletnikoff, a standout pass-catcher at Florida State and then with the Oakland Raiders, and is presented by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation Inc.
