Pedestrian injured in Vairo Boulevard hit-and-run

Patton Township police are investigating a hit-and-run accident after a pedestrian was struck by a car on Thursday morning on Vairo Boulevard.

According to police, the victim, who was not identified, suffered a leg injury and other minor injuries and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. when a dark blue vehicle struck the person at the 300 block of Vairo Boulevard near Penn Wood North Apartments, police said.

The vehicle, which police couldn’t identify, was traveling toward North Atherton Street, according to a police report.
