Penn State student arrested on drug charges

From CDT staff reportsNovember 25, 2013

A Penn State student has been busted on multiple drug charges after police searched his place this spring and found marijuana, paraphernalia and almost $4,900.

State College police said Kevin Maloney, 21, of Yardley, sold pot to an undercover informant two times in March, and after the buys, police got a search warrant on his apartment at 800 W. College Ave.

The search turned up a pipe, glasses with marijuana inside, bags of marijuana, and thousands of dollars.

Police said they found $2,670 in a small plastic Baggie under Maloney’s bed. Inside a box in a nightstand, police found $2,120. Another $81 was discovered elsewhere in the apartment.

Police said $200 of the money had been given to Maloney by the informant during the drug buys.

Maloney is in the Centre County Correctional Facility on $5,000 straight bail and is awaiting a preliminary hearing next week.
