From CDT staff reportsNovember 26, 2013

A Milesburg man will spend three years in state prison for his role in the car crash that killed his wife in July 2012.

David Bartley, 50, was sentenced to serve three to six years in prison for driving under the influence of prescription pills at the time of the fatal crash on Benner Pike in College Township.

Bartley lost control of his SUV and crashed into a telephone pole near Tractor Supply Co., killing his wife, Susan Bartley, 43, police said.

The husband was driving under the influence of Alprazolam and Oxycodone, prosecutors said. He pleaded guilty in October to felony counts of homicide by vehicle and other charges.

Bartley was also sentenced to serve one year probation for retail theft charges in an unrelated case, prosecutors said.
