Penn State women’s volleyball: Hancock earns Big Ten honor

— After etching her name in the Penn State record books, Micha Hancock was named Big Ten Setter of the Week on Monday.

The junior earned her 14th weekly conference honor in helping the No. 2 Nittany Lions beat Northwestern and Illinois last weekend.

She guided Penn State (26-2, 17-1) to a .344 hitting night against the Wildcats with 63 assists, nine digs, four kills adn three blocks. She had 52 assists, eight digs, four kills and two blocks against the No 20 Fighting Illini.

In addition, her two aces against the Wildcats gave her 237 for her career, breaking the Nittany Lion career record.

Penn State closes its regular season schedule this week, visiting Ohio State on Wednesday and No. 10 Nebraska on Saturday. One win will clinch the Big Ten championship outright for the Nittany Lions.
