Police: At least three State College residences burglarized over past week

— Police are investigating at least three reported burglaries over the past week that could be connected.

An unknown person or people broke into residences at 148 W. Hamilton Ave., 150 W. Hamilton Ave. and 518 S. Pugh St., stealing electronics at each location, police said. Flat-screen televisions were taken at two of the residences and XBox 360s also were taken at two of the residences, police said.

Police are not completely sure if the incidents are connected, but given the similar nature of the crimes, they are not ruling it out. The burglaries included forced entry at each of the locations, breaking the locks, police said.

Other rooms also looked to be entered, and police said all the residents must return before a final tally of stolen items can be taken. The dwellings were empty during the reported crimes, police said.

Police said these types of crimes are common over breaks in classes at Penn State, and they ask anyone who might have information on any of the incidents to come forward.

The investigation is ongoing.
