Penn State field hockey: Two Nittany Lions named All-Americans

— Penn State’s Brittany Grzywacz and Laura Gebhart each were named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-American Team on Monday.

Each was named to the second team, and it marks the fourth straight season the Nittany Lions had at least two players on the All-America team. Both were repeat members of the All-America team.

Grzywacz, a senior defender, was second on the team in goals with 12 and led the Big Ten with seven game-winners. She also was the Big Ten Defender of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Gebhart, a junior midfielder, is an All-American for a third time after captaining the midfield and led the Big Ten with 14 assists and is tied for third among active players in the NCAA with 38 assists.

The Nittany Lions earned their second straight Big Ten regular-season title, qualified for the NCAA Tournament and finished with a 13-6 record.
