Rowland Theatre to host 'Our Town: Philipsburg'

For the CDTDecember 4, 2013

The best way to watch “Our Town: Philipsburg”? In Philipsburg.

The 75th episode of the WPSU series highlighting the communities of central Pennsylvania will premiere on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The episode is a revisit of the Moshannon Valley area, which was spotlighted several years ago. This year’s production was made during the fall and offers a different look at the community than the previous version.

The Rowland Theatre is offering an opportunity for viewers to get to know Philipsburg in the historic 1917 movie palace that is the centerpiece of the borough’s downtown. The theatre recently completed a digital upgrade, making it possible to stream the program to allow the community to view it together in the nonprofit-run, municipally owned facility.

The show will be presented free of charge.
