Man extricated after rollover crash near Wingate

From CDT staff reportsDecember 5, 2013

One person was injured Thursday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a small stream along South Eagle Valley Road near Wingate.

State police said a man was injured in the crash and taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The man, whom police have not identified, was traveling north on South Eagle Valley Road near the Union/Boggs Township line when he apparently suffered a medical condition and lost control of his vehicle.

His Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo traveled up an embankment, took out a road sign, flipped and landed in the creek, police said.

Emergency responders had to cut the roof from the vehicle to free the man from the wreckage.
