Bellefonte man accused of punching, biting pregnant woman

From CDT staff reportsDecember 7, 2013

A 22-year-old man was charged with simple assault after calling 911 to report that he punched and bit a woman who is 14-weeks pregnant.

Matthew R. Ensminger, of Bellefonte, assaulted the woman around 11 a.m. Wednesday during an argument at a home in Milesburg, state police at Rockview wrote in charging documents.

Ensminger allegedly shoved the woman, punched her in the back, pulled her hair and bit her on the wrist. The woman went outside and called her mother, while Ensminger called 911 because “I knew I (expletive) up,” police said.

He was taken to Centre County Correctional Facility after failing to post $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday in Centre County court.
