Bits of Business: IHOP to open doors Tuesday

After the much-anticipated opening of IHOP, a spokesman said the restaurant should open on Tuesday.

Craig Hoffman said workers at IHOP, 1661 S. Atherton St. “are just putting the finishing touches” on the restaurant.

The restaurant will be in a 5,812-square-foot building on a 1.12-acre lot that was formerly a Perkins.

New restaurant in Bellefonte

Bella II opened Nov. 12 on 135 S. Allegheny St.

Owner Ciara Semack said the restaurant offers upscale food at affordable prices and specializes in pizza and pasta. She owns the restaurant with Mike Albegiani.

Semack said after much success with a similar restaurant in Centre Hall, the duo decided to open a second location in Bellefonte.

Bella II is open Tuesday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.

DuBois Business College to open in Philipsburg

DuBois Business College is opening in Philipsburg with the help from the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership and will be at 200 Shady Lane.

According to information from DuBois Business College, classes will begin on Jan. 3.

An information session will be available to the public 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at its new Philipsburg location.

“DBC brings an excellent reputation and a real passion for helping students to succeed,” said Stan LaFuria, MVEDP executive director.

DuBois Business College offers associates in specialized business degrees and diploma programs.

Company wins award for work with PSU

Impressions was awarded earlier this autumn two American Graphic Design awards by Graphic Design USA for its graphic design work for the Penn State forensic sciences program and The State Theatre.

Creative director and owner Michelle Damiano and lead graphic designer Zach Sheffield head the design team.

Impressions is a State College-based marketing and advertising agency.
