Flyers place Lecavalier on IR

The Sports NetworkDecember 8, 2013

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Flyers have placed forward Vincent Lecavalier on injured reserve.

The Flyers' prized free-agent signing in the summer, Lecavalier is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks after being diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture in his lower back on Sunday.

Lecavalier missed his third straight game on Saturday, a 5-1 setback to the Stars in Dallas, due to what was originally deemed to be back spasms.

The 33-year-old is tied for the team lead with nine goals in 22 games this season. He also has five assists.

Forward Tye McGinn was recalled from Adirondack of the American Hockey League to fill Lecavalier's roster spot. He has three goals in six games with the Flyers this season.
