Penn State men’s soccer: Nittany Lion goalie receives regional honor

— Penn State goalie Andrew Wolverton was named All-Great Lakes first team Monday.

The junior, the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, had eight shutouts for the Nittany Lions (13-6-2), who advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Wolverton held Penn State’s opponents to one goal or less in 18 games.

He ranks fourth on the school’s career list with 23 shutouts and heading into his senior season he has the program’s best goals against average.
