High school boys’ basketball: Bellefonte tumbles against Tyrone

— Trent Fortney scored a team-high 11 points for Bellefonte as it dropped its season opener to Tyrone 87-53 on Monday.

“I thought we played hard,” Bellefonte coach Darrin Hazel said. “It was a tough opener to face one of the better teams in this area.”

Fortney hit two 3-pointers on the night for the Red Raiders, which had six as a team. Evan Wian and Andrew Stover also had 3-pointers and each contributed with nine points.

Brandon Gripp had 24 points and and Jordan Miller netted 20 for the Golden Eagles.
