Mountainback race raises $15,000 for House of Care

The Tussey Mountainback 50 Mile Relay and Ultramarathon announced that its Oct. 20 footrace in Rothrock State Forest raised $15,000 in support of the House of Care, which provides a home environment and services for needy Centre County residents, according to organizers.

Event director Mike Casper announced the gift at the December meeting of the Nittany Valley Running Club.

In all, 152 ultramarathoners and 111 relay teams participated in the event, which also hosted the USA 50 Mile Road Championships.
