Police investigate Lemont home invasion

From CDT staff reportsDecember 13, 2013

A Lemont woman reported to police that someone had gotten into the basement of her Norle Street home and set off the home’s security system late Thursday evening, State College police said.

The resident heard footsteps on her basement stairs, too, but she made a noise to scare off the intruder, police said. The house is on the 300 block of the street in College Township.

She called police at about 10:45 p.m., and by the time police arrived, the person had left.

Additional evidence that an intruder had been in the home was a knocked over Christmas tree in the basement, police said.
