Penns Valley Area students are helping ring in the holidays with a series of winter concerts.
The concerts started last week at Miles Township Elementary in Rebersburg and will continue through this week at the other buildings in the district.
District officials said on their website that it was the first time in years that Miles Township Elementary had to hold two separate concerts because of class sizes.
“Both the K-2 and 3-4 concerts were well-attended, and spectators enjoyed beautiful holiday tunes with a positive message,” officials wrote.
Among the concerts this week are the junior high and senior high band and chorus concerts. The junior high concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium. The senior high concert is the following day, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, also in the auditorium.
A complete list of the concerts and times can be found on individual school calendars or by calling the schools.
Winter dance postponed
Be careful what you wish for.
The Penn Valley Area High School winter dance, this year called the Winter White Out dance, was postponed Saturday due to inclement winter weather.
The storm dumped as much as 8 inches of snow in some parts of Centre County. The National Weather Service in State College received reports of 7 inches in Spring Mills.
The dance was postponed and has been rescheduled for Jan. 25, according to the district.
