Boys basketball: Bellefonte tops P-O, rolls to first win

— Bellefonte jumped to a fast early lead and pulled away for its first win of the season Monday night, dropping Philipsburg-Osceola 64-31.

“Our effort and energy were really good tonight,” Bellefonte coach Darin Hazel. “It was a strong defensive effort to hold them to eight field goals.”

Evan Wian’s 17 points, Brett Finley’s 12 points and Andrew Stover’s 10 paced the Red Raiders (1-2).

Curtis Matsko, Collin Maurer and Trentin Herrington each netted eight points for the Mounties (0-4).
