Girls basketball: Clearfield rolls to win at Bald Eagle Area

From CDT staff reportsDecember 18, 2013

— Depleated by injuries, Bald Eagle Area’s small roster ran out of gas in the closing minutes of its girls’ basketball game Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles saw a three-point lead to start the fourth quarter turn into a 39-32 loss to Clearfield after scoring only four points in the final eight minutes.

BEA attempted only nine field goals in the final period and was 0-for-7 from the foul line in the fnal minutes.

“We didn’t shoot the ball,” Lady Eagles coach Troy Butterworth said. “We had some tired legs. We’ve got a couple hurt players so my girls played almost the entire game. We didn’t have a very deep bench tonight.

Logan Fischer’s 12 points and four assists led BEA (0-4), while Ellie Chambers grabbed 10 rebounds and Haylee Giedroc had five steals and four assists.
