High school girls basketball: State College routs Chambersburg to stay unbeaten

From CDT staff reportsDecember 19, 2013

— The Lady Little Lions are rolling right along and rolled out of their locker room to their fourth-straight win on Wednesday.

State College (4-0) built an 11-point lead after one quarter and romped to a 69-37 win over Chambersburg (2-3).

“I think the girls came out really energized,” State College coach Bethany Irwin said. “We were on fire in the first quarter. That was really nice to see.”

A quick third-quarter start was in order too and a 33-26 halftime lead allowed State College to experiment with multiple defensive looks. The defensive changes confused Chambersburg and the Trojans managed just 11 second-half points.

Meanwhile, four Lady Little Lions finished in double figures with Kyla Irwin netting a team-high 25 points. Bridget King added 15 points while Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh chipped in 12. Ali Treglia added 10 points for the Lady Little Lions.
