HUNTINGDON — Penns Valley got off to a fast start and remained unbeaten with a 47-35 win over Huntingdon on Thursday night.
The Rams (5-0) scored 21 points in the first quarter and closed the Bearcats (1-4) out with a 15-6 run. It was a much more satisfying win for Penns Valley head coach Terry Glunt who watched his team score just a combined three points in the first and fourth quarters in its last game — a 34-31 win over Central.
“It was nice to see just a solid performance tonight,” Glunt said.
While the Rams took care of buisiness offensively — Luke Weaver finished with 17 points and Zach Engle added 11 — they stymied the Bearcats on the other end, too.
Huntingdon came into the game averaging 60 points per game.
“It’s always tough to win in Huntingdon,” Glunt said. “So Iwas clearly pleased with the defensive effort.”
