A two-car garage was damaged by a fire in Philipsburg on Saturday morning.

Police dispatchers said that officials responded to a home on Hale Street near the North 13th Street intersection just before 10 a.m.

The building was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived on scene, and they had to fight the blaze from the outside due to small explosions from propane tanks and air compressors in the building. One car was safely removed from the garage, but another was destroyed.

State police at Philipsburg said there were no injuries, but fire investigators are looking into the cause.

State police at Philipsburg and Rockview, along with Philipsburg, Chester Hill, Houtzdale and Morrisdale fire companies, responded to the scene.
