S&P upgrades Penn State’s fiscal outlook

From CDT staff reportsDecember 24, 2013

Penn State has gotten another good sign from a credit ratings agency.

Standard & Poor’s upgraded Penn State’s fiscal outlook from negative to stable, the university has announced.

The move by Standard & Poor’s follows a similar upgrade of the university’s outlook by Moody’s Investor Service. That agency boosted the outlook from stable to positive, citing university leaders’ quick action to adopt governance reforms in response to the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

President Rodney Erickson said the Standard & Poor’s outlook is another affirmation of the ongoing progress the university has made.
