Mother Nature was a day late in delivering a moderately white Christmas.

But Centre County residents got a small dose of it Thursday as snow dusted the landscape.

Flurries fell sporadically through the day, and as much as 2 inches fell in some spots.

On Friday, expect partly sunny skies with a high in the upper 30s.

Milder weather will move in through the weekend, with highs Saturday and Sunday in the low 40s and overnight lows just below freezing, according to AccuWeather in Ferguson Township.

There is a chance for rain Sunday afternoon, and colder temperatures will move in for the start of the new year, with a chance of snow on New Year’s Eve.
