Boys basketball: Williamsburg drops Philipsburg-Osceola

— A rough first quarter left Philipsburg-Osceola in too deep of a hole as the Mounties lost to the host Blue Pirates 58-26 in the opening round of the Williamsburg Boys’ Basketball Tournament on Thursday.

The Pirates jumped to a 21-4 lead after the opening quarter and coasted to the win. P-O will face Bedford in Friday’s consolation game.

Trentin Herrington’s 15 points led all scorers for the Mounties (0-6). Bryce Young’s nine points led the Pirates.
