Clearfield County man dies in one-vehicle crash

A Clearfield County man died Thursday after a one-car crash in Morris Township.

Robert Ferguson, 84, of Morrisdale was driving north on Deer Creek Road near Rocky Hill Road at 12:48 p.m. when he lost control of his Ford Ranger pickup on a wet road, according to state police in Clearfield.

Ferguson’s car slid off the east side of the road, struck and embankment, then a tree. He was trapped in the Ranger when EMS crews arrived at the scene. According to state police, he was conscious at the time, and he was taken to UPMC Altoona.

Ferguson died Thursday night from complications resulting from his injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Moshannon Valley EMS and Morris Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene of the accident.
