Penn State wrestling: Alton brothers go 5-0 at Wilkes

— Penn State brothers Andrew and Dylan Alton made their wrestling season debuts on Saturday at the Wilkes Open, where the duo went 5-0 before taking medical forfeits in the tournament, a plan devised by the Nittany Lions’ coaching staff.

Andrew Alton, ranked seventh at 149 pounds, went 3-0 in the tournament, recording a technical fall and a pin before bowing out. Dylan Alton, ranked fifth at 157, went 2-0 with a pin.

According to the Nittany Lions, the Altons are doubtful for the team’s date at the Southern Scuffle on New Year’s Day, as Penn State seeks its fourth straight tournament crown in Chattanooga, Tenn. Penn State returns to Rec Hall on Jan. 12 to take on Purdue.
