Police: Howard man injured in Walker Township crash

A Howard man sustained a moderate injury in a two-vehicle accident in Walker Township late Saturday night, state police at Rockview said.

Donald Yarnell, 87, attempted to pull onto Nittany Valley Drive directly into the path of James Watkins, 32, who was unable to stop and struck the front passenger side of Yarnell’s Chevrolet Blazer, police said.

Yarnell was uninjured, but Watkins was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the incident occurred at the intersection of Nittany Valley Drive and Snydertown Road at about 11 p.m.

Walker Township Fire and EMS assisted on the scene, police said.
