Police: Coburn man charged after threatening woman while holding loaded shotgun

A Coburn man is behind bars after state police said he threatened his ex-girlfriend and her teenage daughter Saturday night while he was clutching a 16-gauge shotgun.

Police said Brian Ray, 41, was drunk when he arrived at the woman’s house in Penn Township shortly before 11 p.m., started arguing and said he would ruin her. The woman told police she feared for her life.

Police said searched Ray when he was under arrest and found a bag of marijuana and a pipe. Ray refused a blood test at Mount Nittany Medical Center, police said.

Ray is charged with DUI, simple assault, drug and drug paraphernalia possession, . Police said they searched him and recovered drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.

Police said Ray is in the Centre County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.

Police said he was in violation of a protection-from-abuse order during the incident.
