8 Pa. governor candidates to appear at luncheon; Rep. Scott Conklin will present award

The eight Democrats who have announced candidacies for the 2014 Pennsylvania governor’s race will speak at the Penn Ag Dems Farm Show luncheon Saturday.

The gathering is set for 11 a.m. in the VIP Room on the second floor of the Farm Show Complex, Cameron Street, Harrisburg, the organization’s president and Clearfield County Commissioner Mark McCracken said in a news release.

Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Rush Township, will present the Jefferson Award for service to Democratic principles to Auditor General Eugene DiPasquale. Conklin received the award last year.

The eight announced Democratic candidates for governor are John Hanger, former secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection; Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz; state Treasurer Rob McCord; Katie McGinty, former secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection; the Rev. Max Myers, of Mechanicsburg; Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski; U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, of Philadelphia; and Tom Wolf, former state secretary of revenue.
