Repairs start Monday for Route 322 bridge near Boalsburg

From CDT staff reportsJanuary 4, 2014

Work to repair a bridge near Boalsburg on eastbound U.S. Route 322 will begin Monday. The bridge spans state Route 45.

Traffic will be moved onto the shoulder during daylight hours. The state Department of Transportation said it expects work to last through January. The repairs to the bridge are necessary due to damage caused by an oversize load traveling on Route 45 in October.

The hauler is responsible for the cost of repairs.

The bridge was built in 1971, is 212 feet long and carries an average of 8,227 vehicles per day, with truck traffic making up almost 28 percent of that total, according to a PennDOT news release.
